TIM’s Mid Week Miniature

This weeks figure is another Hasslefree miniature of a young lady who goes by the name of “Pulse”.

No Interruptions!

One of the nice things about Christmas is it provides a certain amount of solitude which allows me to get some modelling done with fewer interruptions.  I find that if I shout out “You can’t come in!” the wife and kids think I am wrapping Christmas presents.

New Year New Job?

It’s early days but I am thinking about going back to work.  For £100 an hour I will pose as a couples therapist and tell your spouse they are wrong about everything.  If you think you could benefit from this service please contact me via this blog.

The Perfect Gift?

I asked She Who Must Be Obeyed if she had any idea what she might like for Christmas.  “Something Silk” she replied.  Knowing my luck I’m sure to have gotten the wrong colour!305666-DULUX-SILK-PBW-2-5L1.jpg

This week TIM has been watching …

The sharp eyed amoungst you may have noticed that I have reversed the order between “watching” and “listening” this week.  There is a reason for it.

This year Marks and Spencer produced a Christmas TV advert featuring the song “Jump Around” by the “House of Pain”.  It’s a catchy tune and therefore a catchy advert and it has had me and my kids performing the moves.  Badly in their case, expertly in mine!

I then pointed out to both of them that several years ago there was a TV advert using the same track involving Monks and church bells.  If I ever put together my top ten adverts this would be one.  Thanks to YouTube I was able to show them the advert.

The links to both are below.  I will leave you to decide which one you prefer.

This week TIM has been listening to …

“Jump Around” by the House of Pain.

Needless to say following on from the above it was appropriate to listen to the official version.

As next Wednesday is Christmas Day this will be my last mid-week post for 2019 (I aim to put up a final post for the year on Saturday).  Hopefully I will put a mid-week post up on New Years Day subject to how hung over I am from the night before.  In the meanwhile have a Merry Christmas one and all and a Happy New Year.

Until next time.

  1. Silk huh, that’s a new twist. “Honey, I got you a new coat, two if you need it!”…

Funny, the wizards at YouTube let me see the monk’s video, but apparently in the US the others are not allowed to be viewed. How dare they thwart your humorous discussions!

Pulse is fantastic. I’m not sure I could replicate the look on the denim, quite masterful. I know you use oils, and I’m just into using acrylics for ease of cleanup. Not that I have any upcoming denim painting to do on tanks or weird OOP aliens, but your recipe for denim might be useful for others if you want to share. Something tells me she was inspired nostalgically!

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  2. My first thought was “that denim looks real”! Well done!
I’m prepared to pay you £100 to tell my wife she’s wrong – I’m assuming you won’t be able to avoid the subsequent impact with the frying pan, but it’ll be worth seeing in case you do and I can therefore learn from the experience! You can invoice me at my Paypal address Ican’tbelieveyou’re@casualtyagain.com!
Hope you have a great Christmas!

  3. I’d forgotten about those monks, that one always tickled me as well. Nice work on Pulse, I’ll join those calling for a tutorial. Have a good Christmas (which still seems ages away – is it really next Wednesday? I’d better get a wiggle on!)

  4. Wow Dave! a strange thing happened when I saw your young lady, it immediately set the song by our own singer Betty McQuade performing that all time great ‘Midnight Bus ” just put a suitcase down beside her and you will have perfection !
and from the team down under we wish you and the family a happy and safe Christmas, and yeah I’ll borrow that one about “Don’t Come In ” just love the way you always have such handy tips !!!

  5. You’re a funny old geezer hehe. You make me chuckle. Jump Around is a brilliant song one which my mates and I would literally jump around to at an underage nightclub when were 15/16. We’d sneak in plastic bottles of vodka, get drunk and jump around like idiots. Not much is changed really. I like the subtle highlights on Pulses Jeans.
