Welcome to this weeks Miniatures & Musings!
—000—
This weeks miniature goes by the name of “Doc Scurlock” and sees a return to the Old West genre and to Knuckleduster miniatures. As with all the Knuckleduster figures it is very nicely sculpted and arrived with no cleaning up being necessary.
A straight forward paint job and a simplistic base.

Well It Made Me Laugh
Five Rules for Men to Follow:
Here are the five rules for men to follow for a happy life that Russel J Larsen had inscribed on his headstone in Logan, Utah. He died not knowing that he would someday win the “Coolest Headstone” contest …
- It’s important to have a woman who helps at home, cooks from time-to-time, cleans up and has a job.
- It’s important to have a woman who can make you laugh.
- It’s important to have a woman who you can trust and doesn’t lie to you.
- It’s important to have a woman who’s good in bed, and likes to be with you.
- It’s very, very important that these four women do not know each other or you could end up dead like me.

Give Me Five
If money were no object these are the five classic cars I would immediately go out and buy. Prices vary significantly but in reality 1 of the 5 I could buy now in theory.
E Type Jaguar Convertible
Aston Martin DB5
Mini John Copper Works 1275
Ferrari 250 GT Spyder GT Convertible
MG A Roadster

This week TIM has been listening to …
“Paranoid” by Black Sabbath. Ozzie Osbourne before the drink, drugs and Bat diet. A classic head banging blast.

This week TIM has been watching …
“Anna and the Apocalypse”. Billed in some reviews as High School Musical meets Shaun of the Dead. Not a film I had been aware of but gave it a try and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Remember …
90% of being married is shouting “What” from other rooms.

TIM
Great work on the cowboy TIM, as for cars I’d buy the Ford Falcon and have it done up exactly as Mad Max’s interceptor. Very funny headstone. Classic Ozzy actually drank tea with him in his kitchen.
As for the film did not enjoy that one at all, but we all have different tastes and that’s okay

Glad you like the cowboy Dave and enjoyed the joke, it cracked me up when I first read it too. Can’t fault the car choice and love the little Ozzy anecdote, I bet you didn’t anticipate getting to share that little snippet again! 😉 As you say we won’t agree on everything which is healthy, it wouldn’t do to all be the same now would it? As my nan used to say, one man’s meat is another man’s gravy! 🙂

Nice mini, Dave! 🙂 Life’s rules and Paranoid I like, but I’ve never seen that film and I’m one of those people for whom a car is something to get my wife from A to B in the shortest possible time! I’d much rather go back to having a motorbike, although not so much on the road these days! I’ve now elevated Ozzy’s status to “Minor Celebrity” since he’s had a cuppa with Dave Stone! 😉

Love the mini, looove the Tombstone, Love Paranoid as well as the fact that Ozzy released another album this year… Also that last marraige part is so true! Also, How many Daves currently follow you as I have counted at least six Daves in the four comments… hahaha

Cheers mate. It is an unwritten rule that you have to be a Dave to post comments!😉

The thing is John you sacrificed fast cars, possibly lose women and good movies for becoming the font of all knowledge on historical events, you cannot have it all. Besides I have become reliant on you educating me with historical facts and figures so please continue that great work by not watching any movies I recommend! 😉

I might not have sacrificed any of those things (well, OK, maybe loose women) – I might just be able to talk complete and utter crap in a very convincing fashion! 😉

great figure again, as you say, clean crisp and simple. I think that should be john cooper mini, i am sure this is the motorcycle racer i used to see when marshalling several racetracks in my youth..

The mini is the only one in my budget range, not that I would be allowed to buy it!

Its awesome to see a Western mini again. I’ve been thinking about painting some in the future but haven’t gotten any to paint yet… You have great taste in cars. I like 1960’s era American cars so I’d buy one of those if I had the money and garage space for one 🙂

Ha! Dave it took the lads a while to comment on the minni! nice work mate, I’m practicing for retirement day in nineteen day so have been listening to our young mate Luke pods ,I did like the one about you, so true and he even gave me a big shout on one that kind of blew me away!
Funny thing is I still have an old battered Ford like Dave commented about, it does look like its been through a Mad Max movie!

Great mini. I especially like the rifle. The metals really pop. As much as I like your choices of car (I know you see yourself as a bit of a Casanova Bond type) they’re all far too small for me. I’m 6ft 2” and 105kg haha so I do like bigger vehicles BUT my dream car would be a 1967 Shelby Fastback mustang GT500. Matte black. As far as the other four cars I think I’d go with a 1983 land cruiser troop carrier, a Hummer with gun turret of course, 1969 Chevrolet Camero and a Sherman Tank 😊😊😊

Why am I not surprised by the tank! 😉
