Welcome to this weeks Miniatures & Musings!

This weeks miniature is a very unexciting one but it clears another Footsore Baron’s War figure from the diminishing pile. With my mind preoccupied by other projects it really is just about getting the lesser figures such as this archer done and out of the way.

Give Me Five
I thought as we are in the festive season I would list my five Christmas films this week. I’ve probably done this one before but I can’t be arsed to look back through my blog posts to check! Plenty of great flms left out but I settled on these. In no particular order:
- Home Alone (1990)
- Love Actually (2003)
- Anna and the Apocalypse (2017)
- The Holiday (2006)
- Die Hard (1988)

This week TIM has been listening to …
“Fairytale Of New York” by The Pogues with Kirsty MacColl. With Christmas rapidly approaching I thought I’d go with a festive song for this week and next. Clealry this isn’t the most festive of tracks but it is popular at this time of the year and it is a big favourite of mine.

This week TIM has been watching …
“Paul” starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Needed something lighter to watch and all of Simon Pegg’s films deliver on that front, none more so than this one. Great fun.

Remember …
Next time you go on a roller coaster take some spare bolts with you and tell the person in front of you, “These came out of your seat”.

TIM

Great work on the bowman TIM, still chipping away at this project.
a movie I would have to add to your list would be Gremlins.
Paul was a very funny movie, with so many nods to Sci-Fi movies that have come before

Still chipping away Dave. Not even looking at the mounted figures though! Watched Gremlins only the other day, it is a good film. 🙂

I like the archer, Dave, nicely done! 🙂 I rate Christmas films on a par with musicals and would have to flip a coin to see which are bottom of the list! Despite me being grumpy I did like the jokes but I just can’t identify that motorbike despite having looked at that picture for a few hours now! 😉

Blast! I didn’t have you down for adding to the Christmas film list but I thought you were nailed on to know what bike that was! 😉

Sorry I’ve let the side down on that, Dave! I’ll make another attempt to identify it today! 😉

Another very fine archer. It’s good to keep chipping away at this project, it all mounts up in the end (actually that’s the cavalry isn’t it, the infantry are the ones that don’t mount up…). “Paul” is a great film, I went to see it with three other guys – believe it or not all four of us are named Paul (there were six or seven other friends there as well but for the purposes of this story I don’t think they count!).

The holiday?? You really are an old softie aren’t ya mate haha. My five: 1. Die Hard. 2. Home Alone. 3. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. 4. Gremlins. 5. Scrooged. I like the figure mate. I’m a big fan of grunts, just the every day soldiers holding the line and doing what he’s told.

In my defence Diaz and Winslett are both hot in it. That said I can be an old softie.

Haha true. I was always a fan of Cameron Diaz!

Progress is always good, mate, especially when you’re juggling multiple projects! I wasn’t aware of Paul but Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are great so I may have to add that to my holiday break movie queue!

Yes, progress is progress and do add Paul to your list, it’s a great film. 🙂

Great looking archer!
I haven’t seen Paul, but now I have some time off I may have to sit down to watch it. 🙂
