Welcome to this weeks Miniatures & Musings!

This weeks miniature is a simple Levy figure from the Baron’s War range and another one off of my list. A quick count up and it looks like I only have 10 to do. Hooray!

Give Me Five
Having just recently watched Leonardo in “Don’t Look Up” (see below) I thought I would stick with him for my Give Me Five. He’s actually been in more films that I realised but picking my top five was easy. In no particular order:
- Titanic (1997)
- The Wolf Of Wall Street (2013)
- Catch Me If You Can (2002)
- Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019)
- The Revenant (2015)

This week TIM has been listening to …
“Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves” by The Eurythmics with Aretha Franklin. Hard to know what’s politically correct these days. Pro women or anti men or just a message? Bound to offend someone but all I hear is a great track.

This week TIM has been watching …
“Don’t Look Up” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. A Netflix original released over Christmas and very watchable. Done in a tongue in cheek way but but it’s hard to see government’s or the media acting any other way. Some might argue they already are.

Remember …
Women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the man who mentions it.

Nice fig, great joke! Do you know I don’t think I’ve ever watched a film with DeCaprio in (I can’t think of one anyway (Oh now I think wasn’t he in one of the “Critters” films as a child?, if so I’ve seen that one 😀 ).
Cheers Roger.

Thanks Roger. As for DeCaprio, he’s a fine actor.

Great looking levy TIM, only 10 left, is great going, you didn’t mention how many mounted knights though ! LOL
Not a fan of DiCaprio, so can’t really list one, but if Roger is right about him being in Critters, I’ll go for that one.

Thanks Dave. I think it’s about 13 or so mounted knights I have to do and they’re going ttake a long time as things currently stand but I do plan to paint them.

Another fine looking peasant, with a very expressive face on him too. I keep hearing good things about Don’t Look Up, it’s on the ‘to watch’ list but I’ve not got around to it yet.

Thank you. I enjoyed the film but know people who didn’t but I’d still watch if you get a chance.

Nice spearman! 🙂 Hate to say it, but I’m with Dave Stone on this and would like an update on the mounted knights! 😉

Thanks John. I have about 13 mounted knights to do. I plan to do them and really want to but they are going to take a while.

Good to see another medieval figure, mate. Only ten more to go is not bad at all either. You’ll be done before you know it!

I hope you’re right but I am nearly there. 🙂

That’s an angry looking old lady mate!
Do you ever wonder, when there are no footsore/warbanner minis left you have to paint? haha Great job!

I couldn’t keep up with the Baron’s War figures even if I wanted to, they produce new releases quicker than I can paint! 🙂

I feel you. They have become quite expensive though!
Though they have nice roman sculpts that look a lot differently. And being located in the motherland of miniatures you could get yourself some Antediluvian Miniatures or some nice Empress Miniatures. 😉

“He ain’t levy, he’s my brother”. Go man go (and nice work on him and suddenly I want a beer).
